House Guide En

Welcome to Villetta Poggiodoro Holiday Home! In this guide, we have tried to include all the basic information to help you enjoy your vacation to the fullest.

Your arrival: Keys and important information

Upon arrival, you will be given the keys and we will ask you to sign the holiday rental agreements. On this occasion, you will also have to pay the tourist tax of 2 € per person per day, as required by the Municipality of Castiglione. During check-in, you will be provided with basic information about the house and we will be available to answer any questions or requests. You will find copies of the house keys on the wall key holder, just inside to the left of the entrance door. You can use them if you need them, but we kindly ask you to put them back in their place upon your departure. In the same key holder, you will also find the "6CARD" card, essential for opening the differentiated waste bins, it is essential that you leave it where you found it upon your departure, so that subsequent guests can use it. At check-out for your departure, try not to leave things in the fridge, throw away the rubbish and please remove any rubbish left in the garden, especially if you have pets.

Parking, transport and supermarkets

There is only one covered parking space available, which is the one closest to the access stairs. The space is quite narrow, having been designed in the 70s when cars were smaller. We therefore ask you to park as close as possible to the railing to leave space for other vehicles. Your cooperation is appreciated to ensure comfortable parking for everyone. The house is on the panoramic side; to get to the town, it's about 700m which can be easily walked, but the return is a fairly steep uphill, so going to town by car is more convenient. Since parking spaces are scarce, it's better to look for a spot in the market square where there is a large parking lot available. The supermarkets are very close: Conad, Coop, and Eurospin are less than 700m away and before entering the town. Again, you can easily get there by car and there are dedicated parking spaces. The supermarkets all have local products, including wines.

Kitchen and accessories: use of appliances

The kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, so please only use the specific pots and pans provided for this type of cooking. As for the washing machine and dishwasher, it is important to use them correctly to avoid damage. We advise you to consult at least part of the quick guide manual or, alternatively, to proceed with caution and common sense. Appropriate use will ensure the correct functioning and durability of the appliances.

The garden

The garden can be used by children and free-roaming animals. Automatic irrigation takes place at night; be careful about leaving anything in the garden as you would find it wet in the morning – the lawn is mowed every two to three weeks. Pets are welcome, but please clean up the lawn after your little friends have used it, before your departure.

Blinds and terrace

The blinds are motorized, handle them with care. It is important to close them in case of strong wind or rain; they must not be left closed when wet, so do not leave them open all the time, otherwise they will be damaged and there is a risk of breaking the support arms, which would then be charged to you at a considerable cost. Do not close and open them multiple times in a row (as happened with children playing) because they will jam and get damaged. The terrace faces South; to get shade in the morning, it's better to use a parasol.

Climate control and hot water

The air conditioning system works with a central heat pump system; to activate it, the central unit, whose control is in the hallway of the bedrooms (where you choose the hot or cold function), must be activated. From the central unit, you select the fluid temperature, generally 7° in summer and 65° in winter, then the split in the room of interest must be turned on, adjusting the temperature to 20-22°. Remember to turn off the central unit when the room terminals are not in use, otherwise the pipes will condense and energy will be wasted unnecessarily. The filters are cleaned annually. The remote controls for the fan coils are small white remote controls located in each room. The hot water boiler is always on and self-regulates, allowing you to take hot showers without problems.

Internet

There is a mini 5G WiFi router in the house, which allows you to browse the internet. The traffic is limited (200 GB per month), so 50 GB per week, after which it blocks, so use it moderately. To access the network, the WiFi Key is MonteBianco42 and the Password is WCASTIGLIONE. An Apple TV is connected to the TV, so if you have an account, you can watch your favorite movies on Netflix, Prime, etc. Alexa is also available to play some music, but the old radio in the upper right of the kitchen also does its job.

Problems and references

Any problem that cannot be solved directly, please refer to Ms. Bruni Angela or me. We will endeavor to resolve the problem and call someone to intervene quickly: Bruni Angela tel. 0564-934095 and 320-0739056 / Stefano Agresti 335-476475. It can happen: no hot water, Wi-Fi not working, power outage... but if it happens, everything will be resolved and we will try to do it quickly.

Further general information

  • User manuals and handbooks are in a binder in the second drawer from the top of the wooden and black cabinet in the living room; however, here in the "house equipment" section, you will find quick guides and manuals.
  • Some cupboards are locked and those in the kitchen on the upper left are blocked to leave private items; do not force them.
  • The house electrical panel is on the right in the wall between the living room and the kitchen; slide the door and you will see it. The external terrace lights are adjustable to have the right light both for dining and for watching the sea and the stars.
  • The main electrical meter is outside in the parking lot in a metal cabinet between the parking lot and the access stairs. To the left of the TV, there is a switch that excludes external lighting in case of an external short circuit (the system is up to standard and checked, but with strong thunderstorms, it can happen).
  • The main plumbing systems are in the storage room under the external access stairs; if there are problems, use the references and call.
  • We ask for good neighborly conduct, so as not to disturb, respecting quiet hours at night and in the early afternoon, and to leave the house in a decent condition upon your departure, not leaving things in the fridge and disposing of rubbish. Thank you for your cooperation.
